Elder Andrew McKee

This week was in fact a week...Let me tell ya about it!  Tuesday:  Was in-fact my birthday! I am 20, and in the morning Elder Yao and Elder Palmer were so nice and surprised me with a cake and balloons! Then, in the evening we went to a members house and celebrated a little and ate some DELICIOUS pate. y'all it was so good! Then, gotta call the fam...they decided to celebrate my birthday by going to Lake Powell for the week... Wednesday- Saturday: Normal things... teaching, eating, sleeping, getting called Yovo, had some hard lessons that just show how much the gospel is truly needed in everyone's lives, great stuff!  Sunday: Sunday we had a multi-stake conference, it was awesome! So many people there and not enough chairs so all the missionaries were sitting outside on the grass all around the building! We had a special guest who is well known around the church as an apostle. Yoooo what's up y'all!  Bullet points typa week - Was in a Trio for a few days! It was lit! Lots of fun working with Elder Yao and Palmer!  - Got my fils (son) Wednesday night! Elder Barnes! From Texas, chill dude super strong work ethic and ready to get it into the work!  - Went and visited some new members and it blows their mind that Elder Barnes doesn't understand them real well!  - Had a mouse in the house...ran down the shower drain while Elder Barnes was showering his second night...welcome to Africa! - A dude came up and pulled a old, dull knife on us and said "give me water" I said "no" and he said "dang it" and walked away…weird, never had that happen before 🗡 - Elder Barnes and I got some cookies and I decided to give my last one to a kid on the road...it was in the wrapper still...Elder Barnes didn't know mine had a cookie in it and gave the kid his empty wrapper...then as walking away he goes "so why'd we give that ki...

Yo whats up y'all, here's my week!  It was the last week of the mission for elder Smith! So of course we went all out with eating African food, almost every meal was an African meal, pate, attcheke, attacy (idk how to spell it), etc  It was amazing, such good meals with such amazing people. The members here are amazing and such kind souls, they are some of the best people I have ever met!  Some cool things that that happened • Had a surprise mission wide call on Friday and got the news that Elder Stevenson is coming to Benin at the end of this month! First apostle in the history of Benin mission to be here!  • Transfer calls! I will be having a child everyone! I am training and can't wait to meet my son this Wednesday! So excited!  • Got to have a lot of fun with members and friends this week saying goodbye  • Went on an exchange with Elder Yao to the middle of nowhere, lit rendezvous, and had a lot of fun with him!  • Rode the bikes for a fat minute a...

Great week! Let me tell ya some of it 😁🧚‍♂️ - had an exchanges with the ZLs, they did our baptismal interviews all day...but me and Elder Wood had time to still do a few lessons together, great man, he is about to go home, crazy stuff! - up in Sakete the member fed us some fire Nigerian food. I'm getting better at choking down fish y'all, still hate the taste but at least I don't throw up in my mouth! Rest of the meal was absolutely fire (rat hunting day is being planned) - Sunday had our big group baptism and had 18 of our friends get baptized! It was such a good day! Running around trying to get enough clothes for everyone and having people switch clothes with others after their baptism, it was awesome! Spirit was so strong!!  - took a trip up to a village called "Avarankou" and visted a family that moved up there, fun times seeing them again - today for p-day we went to Cotonou (did every week this transfer) but before we went to the gym with one of our now R...
