Biden is a Baddie!?!?

Bonjour mon frères et sœurs! This past week was another amazing adventure here in Togo so lets get started shall we?

Okay before hand I have an announcement:
I can not message on messager, I've gotten some emails saying people are messaging me, please if you want me to respond email me! I promise I don't hate you, I'm just following mission rules! Okay that’s all, lets get into this week 😁😁

So, turns out Tolman is an absolute legend at the piano, so the primary president asked him to play in the program. So, this last week he has been practicing to get the songs down. That has been fun to hear them! We also went to the practice they had for it and it was fun to have a sneak peak of what Sunday was going to hold before anyone else! Also, I decided after I learn French he's gonna teach me how to play (mission president also asked me to learn).

Had my first exchange and it was so fun, I was with Elder Smith for Friday and I learned a lot from him.  He's a hard worker and a great missionary. There was one point he turned to me and asked me to talk about the great apposticy and I had all these words I wanted to say in my head, but when I tried to say them they didn't come out right and the momma we were teaching was confused, so Smith had to save the day for me. BUT the French was in my head, now I got to get them out my mouth correctly!

The title of this email comes from said exchange. While me and Smith were walking down the road this dude yells "yoovoo! Go trump!!" And we go "huh?" And he goes “Biden is a baddie and Trump is a trumped man" (keep in mind we can smell the beer on this dude) and we go "hahaha okay" and he goes "your politics are messed up dude!" Then he started to yell the F-word alot and we just walked away. It was so funny tho, this drunk dude, in very broken English, yelling about politics of a country that is like over 1100 miles away and he's never been too 😂😂 Love the people here! I have found out that these people care alot about the politics in America, but none of them have talked about their government...idk if they have one...

So, we met this dude a few weeks ago walking home and he was sitting on the side of the road, and we usually don't contact after dark cause people get scared by it. We decided to  talk to this dude for some reason. Anyways, we went and talked to him and invited him to church and he goes "oh I can't I was in a motto accident (motorcycle accident) a few months ago and they had to put a bar in my leg and I can't walk far enough" so we were like alright we will see you around, gave him a pamphlet and left...well fast forward to earlier this week and we saw him again walking down the street and he was walking really funny and has a cane, and as we got closer I noticed he looked like this

Man I didn't notice it the first time cause it was dark, but that metal bar aint doing CRAP!! It looked looked like a banana and made it worse was with the scaring and bruising. It looked like an old mushy banana! No wonder it hurt to walk, that bar is basically a poolnoddle in his body! But he still had a huge smile on and said hi and talked to Tolman for a second before hobbling on down the road (I was in shock about this dudes leg. I couldn't talk to him I just sat there with my face like this 😧 ) Anyways, moral of the story: don't get a bar in your leg in Togo, unless you want a pool noodle leg.

So highlight of the week! I had the wonderful opportunity to be the one that baptized Clarisse and let me tell ya it was an an amazing experience. Clarisse met the missionaries 2 weeks before I got to this area and hasn't missed church since. She was so excited to be baptized! The day before the baptism I was pretty stressed cause I couldn't remeber the pronunciation of some of the words used in the baptism, so I did the best thing to do when stressed, I prayed for help with the baptismal prayer and that all will go well and I won't mess up! And, the morning before we went there I woke up feeling calm and ready and at the baptism I said all the words correctly but more importantly I got her full name right the first time! (African names are confusing sometimes) and I felt the spirit so strong when she came out of the water, what an amazing experience! Thankful I was able to help teach her and baptize her! And very VERY grateful my prayer was answered!!

FRENCH UPDATE: I am proud to announce that I can understand about 47.46% of what people say to me now my problem is I answer in english out of instinct or I know what to say in French but when I do it doesn't make sense and the words are out of order, so often times I try to answer with the shortest answers I can.  BUTTTT the French is coming! Which is good, cause I kind of need to know it out here to live and teach and do the things I need too!

So, this week was pretty dang lit! I'm loving Africa, every second out here is amazing, even when I've walked like 3 miles away from my nice cold shower, in 100 degrees sweating bullets, and just want a nice plate of fufu Congolese (still figuring out the sauce btw), I'm still happy to be out serving the Lord experiencing amazing things! The people are very nice and always say hi and sing to us (it’s the yoovoo song) and once they find out that we aren't Jehovah Witnesses they love us even more! (everyone hates them for some reason🤷‍♂️.) One momma gave us free drinks after we taught her. She wasn't interested but said "Anyone serving the Lord needs a refreshing drink!!” And, it was beezap which is a super good drink here. Some put a lot of cinnamon or garlic in it and it is kind of bitter, but man, is that stuff good. I could live off that and fufu and not complain at all! (also learning how to make beezap don't worry!)

I love you all, your emails make me happy to read through the week so thank you for them!
Have an amazing week!
Remeber to read the scriptures! In 2 Nephi 28. It talks a lot about what is happening around us today, y'all should go read it. (I'm not gonna say more about it cause I dont want to spoil it for you) 😁 okay that's all. I love you all!!

Love,
Elder McKee

EXTRAS:
Did you know the Missionary that passed away in your mission?  Andy: No, I didn’t.  A bunch of the older missionaries here know him.  They said he was a great guy and super funny.  It’s pretty rough.  Tolman knew him.  There is a mental health specialist here for anyone who wants to talk about it. Pray for his family.

Did you teach a lot this week? Andy: Did a lot of contacting so taught about the restoration a couple times.  We had a goal to find 14 new friends and in 3 days we found 13.  We didn’t contact on Saturday because we went to the ward activity, or we would have found the 14th.  Almost all of them will talk to us , if they aren’t Muslims.  The others hear Jesus and want to talk, hard part is finding people who are actually interested.  We met some people that lived in random states in the US and they said, “Great country, no one wants Jesus tho!  Like Africa took all that desire!”
