It was a good week!

Hello everyone! 

This week was good. 

Had a lit conference watching session at the church on my phone with everyone because the leaders didn't show up to unlock the room for the tv...

Conference was super cool, lots of personal inspiration was received, go watch it if you haven't and watch it again if you have! 

The mission is lit, i love the ward I'm in right now and the work is moving nicely. 

Had an exchange but a rainstorm kept us from doing work for a day so we stayed for the morning after to get some stuff done!

I'm not one to talk about numbers a whole lot...but we had a great miracle as a mission last month. So, we are usually sitting around 150 baptisms a month but this last month we were able to break 200! We got 222 baptisms this last month and that was so cool to see it all happen and be apart of this work here in Africa. Ok enough number talk. 

I bought ranch today, if you know me you know that's super exciting for me!

Me and my comp got stuck in a rain storm about quarter mile from the house so instead of hiding in the members house where we were at, we sprinted home...in the rain...at night...
I slipped and fell in the mud but eventually we got home and learned we are both out of shape. 😂😂 We were not feeling good that night but we all good now. 

The member's here are awesome, this last week they have given us

My life is so beautiful here. 

It's safe to say rainy season is coming and it seems to be stronger than last year...I'm going to be sleeping good! 😌 I've found a deeper love for rain here on my mission. 

I've also found a deeper love for the atonement of Jesus Christ! Being here has showed me the real signification of it, there's so many people that know Jesus was crucified for them, but they don't understand that now they can be forgiven of their sins, have a personal relationship with God, and truly live for eternity! They just dance and beat drums and yell "HOLY GHOST FIRE" idk It's awesome being here, teaching these seemingly basic doctrines and it blows their minds that God actually wants them to come back to Him! The church is true.

Andy's call came on Tuesday! Because of lacrosse every evening and wanting his brothers and sisters, and all his friends over, he wanted until Sunday.  It's been sitting on our mantle in an envelope.  When Andy was 8, and in cub scouts, he did a time capsule to open with he got his mission call.  He opened it at dinner, and it was so fun to look thru  all the pictures he put in there, and the other treasures that 8 year old Andy thought were important.

Holy crap does not feel like Christmas! Probably cause it’s about 90 degrees with 78 % humity as I'm writing this… it's super weird to think it's Christmas already! I miss the snow and the cold and not sweating 24/7, y'all that are cold rn...your lucky!  Tuesday we had our zone conference and it was lit! We talked about spiritual gifts that God has given us and how we can use it to better fulfill our mission objective! We also talked about our mission wide vision and goals...let me tell ya, some BIG things are gonna happen to the Benin Cotonou mission these next couple years 😎 it’s gonna be legit! Then after for lunch they made us all T-bone steaks from Salt Lake City! It was the first real beef I've had (the beef here isn't normal) and it was delicious! Got talking with president Lundeen, turns out he's an avid hunter! So of course we talked about it for like an hour about deer hunting and elk and just about the outdoors!  Andy met with the Stake President, President Averett, tonight.  And then we were able to meet with them and Andy pushed the submit button.  EEKKK....a little bit of tears from mom, and excitement all  around.  The wait has been about 8-20 days....so now we wait.  So proud of Andy and his desire to serve and represent our Heavenly  Father.
