Juicy-Lucy

This week was a good week!

Started us off with me and my comp finding a butcherie that also sold burgers...got them, absolutely fire, very good burger.

Thursday night the senior couple came and got us and took us to a restaurant called “Beefcuts" it’s a steak house and apparently the meat is imported from America! When we got there the owner came and said to the couple "if there is ever a day you aren't here I am worried!" So, they go there a lot. But, we sat down and we ordered our food, I got the juicy-Lucy and HOLLY CRAP best burger ever (bun is supposed to be black) , it was so scrumptious I almost cried and the fries were amazing, so crispy and actual fry sauce, me and my comp were freaking out. The juicy Lucy is arguably the best burger I've had... arguably better than American! With the waitress I pulled out some ewe (Local Language) on her and tried to get her to pay for me...it didn't work but she said if we went back the next day she'd get us free burgers! She even pinky promised, I was thrilled! We will come back to that. 

Friday (next day) we went to MLC face to face in Benin so our whole day was traveling and meeting but it was so good! Lots of fun and good some good burgers for lunch! When we got back at around 5 pm we rushed back to Beefcuts for our free burgers...when we got there...the waitress wasn't there, it was someone else, so no free burgers. But, we decided that we are already there so might as well get some burgers again, it was amazing! This last week from the burgers I got more protein than from my entire mission! Kind of a bummer not a free one but I’ll bring that up to her next we go back! I will get that free burger, I'll do anything for a free burger.

Sunday we had a baptism! Marie-claire is amazing she is so cool and has learned to read and speak French through the BOM! When teaching temples she was so ready to go and got sad when she found out shes gotta wait alittle bit after the baptism! She said she'll just get ready to go as soon as she can! She is so cool!

Andy's call came on Tuesday! Because of lacrosse every evening and wanting his brothers and sisters, and all his friends over, he wanted until Sunday.  It's been sitting on our mantle in an envelope.  When Andy was 8, and in cub scouts, he did a time capsule to open with he got his mission call.  He opened it at dinner, and it was so fun to look thru  all the pictures he put in there, and the other treasures that 8 year old Andy thought were important.

This week was another good one! Had a member meal Friday and it was so fun! I also bought some sick paigne for Malena and Josh, I bet a momma a 100 francs it would rain and it did...then I made another bet with her son and lost that 100 francs…I'll get it back don't worry!  That's all I remember tbh, so here's a spiritual thought!  So, a good friend of mine on their mission said in an email a few weeks ago that if you listen to one conference talk a day you'd be finished right before this next confrence so I decided to do it, one a day every day. It's been lit! Learning a lot and its crazy how a lot of it stands out, stuff that didn't stand out the first time I watched it all in the MTC... Anyways, one talk I listened to that I really liked was "The Joy of Our Redemption" by Kristin M. Yee. Holy crap does not feel like Christmas! Probably cause it’s about 90 degrees with 78 % humity as I'm writing this… it's super weird to think it's Christmas already! I miss the snow and the cold and not sweating 24/7, y'all that are cold rn...your lucky!  Tuesday we had our zone conference and it was lit! We talked about spiritual gifts that God has given us and how we can use it to better fulfill our mission objective! We also talked about our mission wide vision and goals...let me tell ya, some BIG things are gonna happen to the Benin Cotonou mission these next couple years 😎 it’s gonna be legit! Then after for lunch they made us all T-bone steaks from Salt Lake City! It was the first real beef I've had (the beef here isn't normal) and it was delicious! Got talking with president Lundeen, turns out he's an avid hunter! So of course we talked about it for like an hour about deer hunting and elk and just about the outdoors!
