Voodoo, prophétesse, ayimolou

Yo what's up fam 

This week was lit. Let me tell ya about our friends...

Rose: she does Voodoo, killing chickens, drugs, crazy beverages, all that fun stuff.   We met her through her sister who we are also teaching but she's Christian. First lesson with her we talked about plan of salvation and how she isn’t  damned to hell and God does in fact love her and the spirit was there, so strong, she started crying and said she feels happiness...crazy huh! Came to church a few days later and loved it, and was very curious about tthe baptism we had! We've been talking to her alot and she loves having us and is making big changes in her life, she said she wants to be baptized! 

Odette: a Prophetesse that stopped us on the road because we were speaking Ewe and asked for a brochure said she'd read and call us, I didn't believe her but she did!! We set up another rendezvous and gave her the Book of Mormon and she has been reading it like crazy! In 3 days she read half of 1 Nephi! Her and I are now in a race to finish it first! Came to church, said she loves it and felt a peace like none other during the hymns! She is awesome too.

We are teaching almost an entire parcel of 2 families and they are reading the Book of Mormon together and talk about things they don't understand then ask us their questions when we come! These people are so cool!

As you can see we are teaching some super cool people here in Kpalime...unfortunately when an area starts moving that means your leaving...we got transfer calls. I'm leaving, going to Tokoin, city Lomé, and working with the legendary Elder Henriksen, gonna be so lit, sad to say bye to Kpalime but excited to be in Tokoin! 

Ayimolou is my favorite food right now, rice, beans, spicy sauce, with eggs, it’s amazing my favorite lunch. I eat it every day and couldn't be happier with the momma just outside our door who sells it! 

That's all folks, I recommend listening to conference talks through a speaker while showering...it makes it better!

Andy's call came on Tuesday! Because of lacrosse every evening and wanting his brothers and sisters, and all his friends over, he wanted until Sunday.  It's been sitting on our mantle in an envelope.  When Andy was 8, and in cub scouts, he did a time capsule to open with he got his mission call.  He opened it at dinner, and it was so fun to look thru  all the pictures he put in there, and the other treasures that 8 year old Andy thought were important.

This week was another good one! Had a member meal Friday and it was so fun! I also bought some sick paigne for Malena and Josh, I bet a momma a 100 francs it would rain and it did...then I made another bet with her son and lost that 100 francs…I'll get it back don't worry!  That's all I remember tbh, so here's a spiritual thought!  So, a good friend of mine on their mission said in an email a few weeks ago that if you listen to one conference talk a day you'd be finished right before this next confrence so I decided to do it, one a day every day. It's been lit! Learning a lot and its crazy how a lot of it stands out, stuff that didn't stand out the first time I watched it all in the MTC... Anyways, one talk I listened to that I really liked was "The Joy of Our Redemption" by Kristin M. Yee. Holy crap does not feel like Christmas! Probably cause it’s about 90 degrees with 78 % humity as I'm writing this… it's super weird to think it's Christmas already! I miss the snow and the cold and not sweating 24/7, y'all that are cold rn...your lucky!  Tuesday we had our zone conference and it was lit! We talked about spiritual gifts that God has given us and how we can use it to better fulfill our mission objective! We also talked about our mission wide vision and goals...let me tell ya, some BIG things are gonna happen to the Benin Cotonou mission these next couple years 😎 it’s gonna be legit! Then after for lunch they made us all T-bone steaks from Salt Lake City! It was the first real beef I've had (the beef here isn't normal) and it was delicious! Got talking with president Lundeen, turns out he's an avid hunter! So of course we talked about it for like an hour about deer hunting and elk and just about the outdoors!
