Spiritual Lessons and Jealous Africans

This week was good. Let me tell ya about it.

So, I've been trying harder to have the spirit more in lessons but also pointing it out to our friends when we feel it so they know that the warm in their chest isn't from the spicy food they ate, it's the spirit. It’s been amazing as we do that I, myself, have notice the spirit in lessons more and had some great lessons.
One being an opportunity we had to share our personal conversions to the Book of Mormon with a friend and talking about how it changed our lives and that's why we left EVERYTHING to come here, learn a new language, eat different foods, learn a new culture, to help everyone know this book! It was an amazing lesson and it ended with our friend saying she knows this book has a lot of truth in it and wanting to learn more!

We also had a jealous husband...that same friend from the story above, the next day we went by to say hi and she was on the phone with her husband and said "hey I got to go, my 2 white husbands are here.” Then, a few seconds later "oh you want to talk to them? Ok" and hands me the phone and I instantly said "listen she lied. I am missionary, not trying to steal your wife, just talk about the word of God!" And he goes "listen that's my wife so leave her alone, only talk about the word of God with her" I said "do not worry my brother, she is all yours" I think he was scared some white dudes will take her wife...I'm just trying to help people find Jesus in their lives, bro.

That's about it for this email! This week we got transfer calls coming up and I'm finished training Elder Barnes! Crazy to see how much he has changed and I'm excited to see how he changes this mission! I will miss him and his endless movie references.

For my personal study this week I read through Samuel the Lamanite, and his faith is inspiring. Am I standing on the walls and letting the arrows fly (or Voodoo curses) and having faith that I truly can not fall? I love this gospel and want to preach it like Samuel the Lamanite, standing on the walls, yelling it!

Ok, that's all till next week!

Love,
