Are you MUSLIM?

This week was good! Let me tell you about it! 


The week was pretty solid y’all. We were visting all the people we contacted last week and doing all the good teaching of the word of God! 

We went into a new area to try and get a group going and get the church down in there! On the way back we decided to go to a restaurant and this is a conversation with the waitress: 
"What would you like to drink?" 
"What do you have?" 
*starts naming off beers* 
"Oh we dont drink alcohol" 
"Why?" 
" In our religion we believe its agaisnt the commandements of God" 
"ARE YOU MUSLIM??" 
They were very confused why we decided to take water over any alcoholic drinks...

Also, it was Elder Barnes 19th birthday on the 5th! So happy to be there with my son for his birthday we went and ate at a memebers house and had some really interesting conversations about random stuff such as all the MTCs, colleges, most expensive BYU, ocean waters rising, Europe...all in French...they were confused why Elder Barnes didn't talk too much...

Sorry this week is short! Today we had a lit activity in Cotonou and I had like 0 time to write or anything like that! Love you all! Have a great week!!

So, this week was great! We started French and found out we get out a week early! I have 2 more weeks, then I'm in Benin! 14 days! I'm so excited to go serve the people of my mission! We are leaving a week early because some of the mission presidents in Africa have a big conference the next week, so anyone who was suppose to leave that week is leaving earlier so their president is there to greet the new missionaries.   So, here's the weekly Lelekumo section: There's a new elder here from Korea (Elder Yoo) and Lelekumo is so curious about him and he asked him if he know a couple different Chinese actors and Elder Yoo goes “No, they are from China, I'm from Korea" and Lelekumo goes "ohhh OK" then goes quiet for a few minutes while we all talk.  Andy met with the Stake President, President Averett, tonight.  And then we were able to meet with them and Andy pushed the submit button.  EEKKK....a little bit of tears from mom, and excitement all  around.  The wait has been about 8-20 days....so now we wait.  So proud of Andy and his desire to serve and represent our Heavenly  Father.

Hey yall! Another week in Africa down and I loved every second of it!! So, let's go over some highlights of this week, shall we? First off: finally met some people that did Voodoo and it was pretty fun. They seemed like normal people but, when we asked them to come to church they started dancing chanting "we do Voodoo!" And something else i didn't understand (think it was évé) and we just turned around and walked away, pretty fun! Not what I was expecting from Voodoo people and to be honest they could have been lying so we would leave.  It worked tho!  Second: put two more friends on date for baptism!! One dude was being taught in Benin before moving here and our first time meeting him he said "I need to be baptized, I am ready" and so we came to with a plan on when to teach him the lessons and he's already coming to church so November 23rd here we come!
