Cat!

 Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are doing well!


Week: 
- went to dinner for a member's birthday, ate a good pizza 
- got hit by another moto, broke something in his bike, he didn't say anything and walked away. We chased him and gave him some money to fix his moto 
- ate a cat...yes in fact I have eaten a cat. The other companionship bought it and gave some to us. They told us they drowned the cat in a bucket of water to kill it...then skinned it and cooked it right there for them! The cat tasted kinda like you took a cat and killed it, then grilled it on the side of a dirty,  dirt road in West Africa.
- worked like absolute Dawgs getting our friends all ready for the group baptism we are doing August 3rd, we have a goal with the two companionships to get 30 baptisms! 
- The breaks on Elder Smiths bike broke and so the tire wouldn't turn, a mechanic just took the whole brake mechanism off with some allen wrenches and a hammer...works now, but no brakes 
- had zone conference and it was awesome as usual. We talked about how to better help our friends use the Book of Mormon and having a higher love for them
- interviews with President! They went good, talked about how we can get Porto Novo going even more and opening new groups. Talked about where and how, now we gotta pray and do! Super excited to get it going here. 

This last week in Zone conference we talked about how to get more from studying The Book of Mormon and we talked about praying before studying the scriptures, and if we do that the spirit will be stronger with us and we will get more out of the word God has given us! Prayer is such cool thing, you can pray for almost anything and God is very willing to help you get it or feel it. Wow, it's amazing I love prayer! (Alma 37:37)

So, this week was great! We started French and found out we get out a week early! I have 2 more weeks, then I'm in Benin! 14 days! I'm so excited to go serve the people of my mission! We are leaving a week early because some of the mission presidents in Africa have a big conference the next week, so anyone who was suppose to leave that week is leaving earlier so their president is there to greet the new missionaries.   So, here's the weekly Lelekumo section: There's a new elder here from Korea (Elder Yoo) and Lelekumo is so curious about him and he asked him if he know a couple different Chinese actors and Elder Yoo goes “No, they are from China, I'm from Korea" and Lelekumo goes "ohhh OK" then goes quiet for a few minutes while we all talk.  Andy met with the Stake President, President Averett, tonight.  And then we were able to meet with them and Andy pushed the submit button.  EEKKK....a little bit of tears from mom, and excitement all  around.  The wait has been about 8-20 days....so now we wait.  So proud of Andy and his desire to serve and represent our Heavenly  Father.

M.C.KEHHHHH!!

Hey yall! Another week in Africa down and I loved every second of it!! So, let's go over some highlights of this week, shall we? First off: finally met some people that did Voodoo and it was pretty fun. They seemed like normal people but, when we asked them to come to church they started dancing chanting "we do Voodoo!" And something else i didn't understand (think it was évé) and we just turned around and walked away, pretty fun! Not what I was expecting from Voodoo people and to be honest they could have been lying so we would leave.  It worked tho!  Second: put two more friends on date for baptism!! One dude was being taught in Benin before moving here and our first time meeting him he said "I need to be baptized, I am ready" and so we came to with a plan on when to teach him the lessons and he's already coming to church so November 23rd here we come!
