What's that smell??

Good week, have a good read!

This week was so good! Gonna break it down by days.

Monday: Went to the beach with the district it was so lit! We made the "Benin Temple" out of sand then made a huge wall to protect it from the waves it was a great district activity! Then, us and the ZL's went to a market to look for some paigne then back to the ZLs apartment to talk with fam.

Tuesday: Today  I had an exchange with Elder Black from Utah one of our ZLs and he just hit a year, he is such a cool guy and we had a lot of fun talking and I learned a lot from him! One of their new converts we met was having some problems with his neighbors and the police, but it all got worked out!

Wednesday: Today was a good day! Had fun time working with members and visting friends! The two members both want to serve missions and learn English so we decided to help them a little! We taught them the word "Poop" and they were pretty much yelling it and we wouldn't tell them what it meant. They helped us a bunch and will be amazing missionaries

Thursday: District council in the morning was good! We talked about how to study along with our friends and have more of a purpose behind it, really good discussion! The afternoon was good, Elder Smith was gonna do some baptismal interviews for the other companionship but their friends were missing so we had to change the date and we went out and taught some good lessons. Rained today and was pretty cool (aka below 85)

Friday: Every lesson was with a member today and it was awesome! One member just returned from her mission a month ago from Madagascar (shout out Elder Morril) she would just talk about how she wants to go back more than anything, she seemed to have a good time teaching with us. Then, went to Sakete and had one lesson and had to chastise the father a little, cause he was saying very mean things about his wife. Then, we had a family night with a family we are teaching and it was so fun! Did a little activity about the plan of salvation then playing Uno. Man, Africans love Uno.

Saturday: Great day! Blessings given, lessons taught. We had one lesson with someone who just moved here from Allada and so the missionaries from there sent us her contact, she is super nice lady very intrested and we were having a good lesson going, then the wind stopped. Instantly something punched my nostrils...I've smelt it before... but what was it? A rotting elk 🦌? Joshs room 💩? Or sour milk 🥛? Then, i figured it out! Rotting rat 🐀, the lady then proceeded to tell us that infact a rat had died in the ceiling, and instead of taking it out like normal, they are letting it marinate up there and slowly decompose. Let's just say it was interesting  teaching as we were fighting back these smells from entering our nose area. What made it even better for me to watch is my comp (shout out Elder Smith) has a very sensitive nose, so he was experience his own Vietnam throughout the lesson!

Sunday: Sundays are so busy, Porto Novo ward 8-10am, then like right after Dowa branch 10:30-12:30, then we get home by 1 pm eat something and rest a little and leave for Sakete at 2:30  and get back around 5 or 6 but I love it. It's so fun, we had some friends come to church for the first time and they loved it! It rained today so it was nice and cool all day but the mud got me and Elder Smith again...shirt was SPLATTERED in mud, it was grave! But it was alright, good day today!

Scripture time
I am currently in a race with a member to read the D&C faster (I'm gonna lose) but I read this and liked it.
D&C 38:7-9
7 But behold, verily, verily, I say unto you that mine eyes are upon you. I am in your midst and ye cannot see me; 8 But the day soon cometh that ye shall see me, and know that I am; for the veil of darkness shall soon be rent, and he that is not purified shall not abide the day. 9 Wherefore, gird up your loins and be prepared. Behold, the kingdom is yours, and the enemy shall not overcome.

Ladies and gentlemen he is not watching over us...he is in the midst of us, along side with us, he loves us and is with us through each moment of our day. Soon we will be able to see him, and we need to be ready!

Ok, love you all. Be good this week! Love you lots.

Love,
ELDER McKee
