Lesson with a potential serial killer

Great week let me tell ya about it!

Tuesday me and Elder Smith went to the gym…I’ve gotten weaker...BUT I'll get it back
Had a good work day, had a really good lesson on the Book of Mormon and meeting with a new friend we received from the other companionship! At lunch today we went to get spaghetti and while we were eating we saw a weird fight! Kinda tackling each other then dude one picked up dude two to slam dude two down but dude two rapped his arms around dude ones neck so dude one got on his moto and drove off with dude two still cradled in his arms like a baby! So weird!

Wednesday was good, it was pretty normal till the afternoon where after eating the lunch of champions (yogurt and a fearless) we went to a rendezvous. Had a great lesson explaining BOM to a new friend someone we had already taught introduced us too, then at the end we hit them with the good old "any questions?" And he said "yeah...what day is the sabbath?" (Uh oh) after 15 min of this man telling us it's Saturday and not Sunday we just left. hahah But, we had another rendezvous and this is gonna take some space cause it was wild!

So, we went to this ladies house and the family was all moving around and one person had a table one with like 6 chairs, and one with statue of Mary wrapped in white cloth and holding it like a new born baby, weird. After a few minutes we sat down talked to her dad kinda joking around and having fun then the dad came over and stood by us and the girl goes "DAD WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING MY INVITES! YOU ALWAYS DO THIS! LEAVE US ALONE! PLEASE! THEY ARE HERE FOR ME NOT YOU!!!" Me and Elder Smith looked at each other like this 😳👀. The dad immediately went quiet and said "ok sorry" and walked away and sat down about 8 feet away then the girl went "I'm thirsty I'm going to buy water" and left. Almost immediately after leaving the father went "psst pstt" so we looked and his eyes were huge and he looked all around, EVEN AT THE CEILING, to make sure we were alone and said (in broken English) "she is CRAZY! she left for collage and when she came back she was like that. There was an accident or something. She is sick in the head! I am 70 and I am ready for death...and I know shes going to be the one to kill me! She is CRAZY!" At this point the rest of the family was outside with a big statue of Mary, praying to it and chanting in the background and he looks around with big eyes again “You hear that? We are only catholic because of HER! Jesus is protecting us! Every night I am scared she is going to KILL us! She is CRAZY! CraZy! But you didnt hear any of this from me! SHHHHHH 🤫" then we sit in silence for a sec and Elder Smith goes "that was straight out of a horror movie script!" and the girl came back with the water and the father got up and went out side to chant to Mary. I was scared to drink the water, but I did anyways. (Possible poison) We taught the girl and talked about challenges and why we have them, at one point I thought she was going to pull a knife out on us...but she didn't, then on the way out we had to go through this huge group of people all praying to Mary and chanting, us with our bikes... literally parted the red sea… And, ended the day with some pancakes for dinner!

Thursday was good. Had district council, then had some baptismal interviews for the other companionship! Is so nice to see these people making the best decision and they were all so happy to say they are there for the baptismal interview!

Friday
Was a good day. We went and worked in Sakete and found some new people there...lots of muslims and lots of polygamist

Saturday was good, ran around inviting everyone to church and our neighbors were setting up a huge Canopy for a party...ain't gonna sleep a lot tonight. There's 2 pigs that they are gonna eat, tied up squealing...

Sunday
With the split we now have 3 church services to go to and today we had some baptisms too! Baptisms went amazing! One of the candidates kept falling asleep all day, literally fell asleep while receiving the Holy Ghost!
Crazy day of running around but it was good! I always love the second hour cause everyone in the class truely participates and is asking questions or giving their insights...really cool to see everyone helping eachother!

This last week while finishing up the book of Mosiah in chapter 28 theres a verse I really like, verse 3
"Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble."
This is the sons of Mosiah wanting to go to the Lamanites to help them come unto Christ cause "even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble" How powerful is that? The Lamanites have searched to destroy them so many times already but the sons of Mosiah still had so much love that they couldn't stand to think of the Lamanites without the word of God! It really opened my eyes to see we need to share with everyone and not exclude a man because he annoys you or is rude but be patient and let the love of Christ show through you! A powerful scripture for me.

Ok thanks for coming to my ted talk! Love you all, have a great week 🫡 Order your favorite pizza and watch your favorite movie with loved ones! Y'all deserve it 🫶🏿🫱🏻‍🫲🏿

Love,
Elder Moké (new name of the week)

We are zoo animals to them.   They kept gathering to watch us across the street.
The lady kept trying to take our picture so we asked if they wanted one with us.
