It was a good week!

What up people, enjoy this email! 

This week was pretty fun! We have a couple that we are teaching and the man said "Come over Monday night we gonna eat a-lot!" So, we did in-fact go over Monday night and he has the BIGGEST bowl of sauce I have ever seen here, it was so much food, and a HUGE thing of patte, but, we managed and we had to have help from on high cause on the way over I was not hungry but as soon as that big bowl of sauce was set on the table it seemed as my stomach was empty and we were able to eat that whole thing. It was so fun talking with him and hanging out with him. I also figured out the sauce is quite literally the weeds they pull from the ground, boiled, with some seasonings, and whatever meat they find they plop it on in there...no wonder it's so good! 

So, one day Miller and I decided to work close to the house for an evening. We walked, tried to meet some members that weren't too fire, went to see some gray dots (they still aren't interested) and then we went down and found a little lake, saw some kids with a sling shot so naturally I took it and tried to shoot a fish, I missed.  Then a kid was like "follow me" and took us to this cool little hangout spot where 2 dudes were sitting snd we taught them and it was lit. They seemed pretty interested, and the spot we were sitting made me miss Powell, with the water and the little breeze. I wanted to go swimming but probably would have been  eaten by a fish or something, I’ve heard they like white meat. Good thing we stayed by the house that evening! 

I also told a member I liked her paigne dress and she said "I have more of the same paigne at home, do you want it?" So, obviously I paid and got some super cool paigne for something. idk what yet tho but it's cool! Another member told me to bring paigne to her house this week and she'll make me something, so we gonna try that and see what happens. 😁 idk what she's gonna make

This week one night I decided to sleep outside, set up a mattress with my bedding and mosquito net and slept outside and man it felt so good. It got a little chilly and it was amazing, I slept so good I didn't even wake up. Sleeping outside is so much better than inside, I’ve done it almost every night this week! I recommend it if you can! It’s so much better.

Miracle time:
So, one morning we had this whole plan, but decided to go say hi to a member for a few minutes before our first rendezvous.  When we walked in and said hi, she got all excited and went and grabbed chairs and a table (pretty normal), and we sit down and she brings a HUGE plate of rice, noodles, sauce, lettuce, and stuff.  She sits down and stated talking about how that day was her birthday and she woke up sad because none of her family could come see her.  Most of them live in another country, but she decided to make herself some food and then she had a voice say to her, “ make more food, you won’t be eating alone today”.  She didn’t know who could be coming but went and bought more rice and sauce and as she had finished preparing it we came walking in to say hi!  She was so happy and we spent the whole morning talking with her and singing.  Ended up missing the morning rendezvous we had planned, but I thin we spent the morning exactly how the Lord needed us to! It was really an answer to her prayers and it proves that god knows exactly how we are feeling and how to help us!  Such a cool experience.

Anyways, that’s all for this week. For the spiritual thought I challenge you all to reach out to someone you think might be having a rough time.  If you can't think of anyone pray for help finding someone and go through your contacts. The holy ghost will guide you, put your worries on hold and help someone else, and I promise as you do that your worries and troubles will work out, too! It’s crazy how it works. idk how but I know it does! Also, go watch this devotional it's funny and brings up good points for us!

So, this week was great! We started French and found out we get out a week early! I have 2 more weeks, then I'm in Benin! 14 days! I'm so excited to go serve the people of my mission! We are leaving a week early because some of the mission presidents in Africa have a big conference the next week, so anyone who was suppose to leave that week is leaving earlier so their president is there to greet the new missionaries.   So, here's the weekly Lelekumo section: There's a new elder here from Korea (Elder Yoo) and Lelekumo is so curious about him and he asked him if he know a couple different Chinese actors and Elder Yoo goes “No, they are from China, I'm from Korea" and Lelekumo goes "ohhh OK" then goes quiet for a few minutes while we all talk.  Andy met with the Stake President, President Averett, tonight.  And then we were able to meet with them and Andy pushed the submit button.  EEKKK....a little bit of tears from mom, and excitement all  around.  The wait has been about 8-20 days....so now we wait.  So proud of Andy and his desire to serve and represent our Heavenly  Father.

Hey yall! Another week in Africa down and I loved every second of it!! So, let's go over some highlights of this week, shall we? First off: finally met some people that did Voodoo and it was pretty fun. They seemed like normal people but, when we asked them to come to church they started dancing chanting "we do Voodoo!" And something else i didn't understand (think it was évé) and we just turned around and walked away, pretty fun! Not what I was expecting from Voodoo people and to be honest they could have been lying so we would leave.  It worked tho!  Second: put two more friends on date for baptism!! One dude was being taught in Benin before moving here and our first time meeting him he said "I need to be baptized, I am ready" and so we came to with a plan on when to teach him the lessons and he's already coming to church so November 23rd here we come!
